The Underwood boys’ basketball team traveled to Graceville on Tuesday afternoon in search of their first win of the season, however, Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley prevailed by a score of 62-45.  The Rockets only made 32% of their field goal attempts and 1-of-15 from 3-point land.  CGB made 44% (25-56) of their shots and 40% (9-22) of their 3’s.

The Wolverines held a 42-35 edge on the boards.  CGB was led by Nate Moberg with a double-double (21 points, 10 rebounds), Charles Kleindl (17 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals) and Cole Gilsdorf (12 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals.  Isaac Haanen and Jens Jorgenson added 4 assists each.

Leaders for the Rockets were Joey Kupfer (15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals) and Krosby Aasness (14 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists).

"We simply could not get the ball to go in the hoop today,” commented Underwood Head Coach Evan Meece.  “Our outside game wasn't there and we did not make the necessary adjustments to work the ball into the paint when our shots weren't falling.  We pressed too much and kept shooting too many outside shots."

CGB (2-12) will play at West Central Area on Friday and will host Renville County West in their regular season finale on Saturday at 2:30pm.

Underwood (0-16) is at Battle Lake on Thursday and will host Henning on Saturday.
