Fergus Falls Boys Hockey Team Sees Winning Streak End in Little Falls

The Little Falls Flyers scored a power play goal at the 14:37 mark of the third period, snapping a 3-3 tie and beating the Fergus Falls Otters 4-3.  The loss ended a 12 game Otter winning streak.

Little Falls put 44 shots on the Fergus Falls net and the Otters mustered just 18 shots.

The Otters struck first when Isaac Johnson scored on the power play at 10:09 of the opening period with assists from Matthew Niblock and Cole ZierdenMatt Filippi tied the game at 11:01 with assists from Nicholas Stevens and Hayden JohnsonIan Richards broke the tie at 13:21, assisted by Michael DeBrito and Isaac Young.

Johnson pulled the Flyers even at 5:32 of the second period.  Stevens and Filippi earned assists on the goal.  A power play goal by Stevens at 11:30 was setup by Filippi and Tauer Morrison, giving the Flyers a 3-2 lead.

DeBrito’s unassisted shorthanded goal at 11:06 of the third period tied the game at 3-3.  Carter Oothoudt scored a power play goal, assisted by Marshall Anez and Johnson at 14:37.

Ben Swanson had 40 saves in the Otter net.

Fergus Falls (12-2) will host Willmar on Thursday and will travel to Bemidji on Saturday for their final regular season game.
