The Ashby boys’ basketball team clinched the Little Eight Conference title and ran their winning streak to 16 games with a 49-31 win over Brandon-Evansville on Monday night.  The Arrows had a 25-10 halftime lead in the game.

Jaden Norby led all scorers with 15 points.  Jacob Cook finished with 12 and Hunter Norby added 10.  Torin Olson chipped in 7 points and Derrek Bartz rounded out the scoring, netting 5.  Jaden dished out 6 assists and grabbed 10 rebounds to complete a double-double.  Hunter snared 7 boards.

“The Chargers ran their offense with precision and patience,” said Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “We defended pretty well each possession limiting them to one shot most trips.”

Brandon/Evansville was led by Titus Fuller with 10 points.

“I thought we really battled and were disciplined for most of the night,” said B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister.  “We held a great team to under 50 points and gave ourselves a chance to win the game.  I’m proud of our guys’ efforts.”

Ashby will play at Parkers Prairie on Thursday and will host Long Prairie-Grey Eagle on Friday.

“It will be Senior Night as we honor the contributions made to the Arrows Boys’ Basketball program by Derrek Bartz, Jake Rein, Ashton Ecker, Bobby Anderson, Jaden Norby, Miles Hoff, Colby Finkelson, and Zach Buck,” added Coach Holsten.

Brandon-Evansville (6-11) closes out their regular season schedule on Friday at Wheaton.
