The Moorhead Spuds opened up a 29-13 halftime lead on the way to a 67-55 boys’ basketball victory over Perham on Friday night. Moorhead shot 51% (25-49) from the field and made 11-of-14 free throws on the night. Perham finished at 39% (21-54) from the floor, but made all 8 of their free throw attempts.
The Spuds had 4 players in double figures, led by Brady Walthall with 22. Trey Feeney contributed a dozen and two players, Belind Alemadi and Mekhi Elmore added 11 points each.
Leaders for Perham were Finn Diggins (33 points, 9 rebounds), Gabe Thompson (8 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists) and Elijah Morris (8 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals).
Perham (12-3) had an 8 game winning streak snapped with the loss. The Yellowjackets will play at Fergus Falls on Saturday afternoon.
