Pelican Rapids and Perham fought to an overtime battle in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference girls’ basketball game on Thursday night with the Vikings pulling out a 44-43 victory at ‘The Hive’ in Perham. The Vikings led 19-15 at halftime, however, Perham outscored them 19-15 in the second half to close out regulation play tied at 34-34. The Vikings scored 10 overtime points to 9 for Perham to gain the win.
Greta Tollefson scored 16 points and just missed a double-double with 9 rebounds. Anna Stephenson added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists, and Ellie Welch was also in double figures with 11 points. Chloe Paulson dished out 3 assists.
No Perham stats were reported.
Pelican Rapids (14-1) has now won eight in a row. They will play at Barnesville on Monday and at Breckenridge on Friday to close out their regular season schedule.
Perham (9-6) has a three game week next week, starting with a home game Monday against Breckenridge, followed by road games at Detroit Lakes on Thursday and at Hawley on Friday.
