The Moorhead boys’ basketball team paid a visit to Barnesville on Thursday night. The Spuds led 42-30 at the half and went on to post an 81-64 win over the Trojans. Barnesville senior Adam Tonsfeldt broke the all-time school scoring record of 1,514 points, previously held by Michael Strand.
Moorhead had a good shooting night, making 51% (34-66) of their shots and hitting 10-of-28 (35%) of their three’s. They also won the battle of the boards, 31-23. When Tonsfeldt broke the record the Trojans led 20-13, however, Moorhead went on a 29-10 run to build their halftime lead to 12.
Kaden Zenzen (20 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists), Adam Tonsfeldt (14 points, 2 assists, 2 steals) and Tate Inniger (12 points, 6 rebounds) were all in double figures for Barnesville.
The Trojans made 41% (21-51) of their shots from the field.
Barnesville (8-5) will host Breckenridge on Friday night.
