McHale Korf scored a game high 33 points, including a clutch 3 at the end of regulation to force overtime and the Pelican Rapids boys’ basketball team came back from several double digit deficits to defeat the Frazee Hornets 89-86 in double overtime on Thursday night.

“We were very fortunate to have a chance to win this game as Frazee was in control for most of it,” said Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “We were down double digits in the first half, at halftime, and midway through the second half before being able to battle back and tie it at the buzzer on a three by McHale Korf. Our guys showed a lot of guts to hang in there when things weren’t going our way and we are proud of the effort they showed in the comeback win.”

Frazee led 40-29 at the half, the game was tied 76-76 at the end of regulation and 84-84 after the first overtime.

Logan Fahje and Jayden Rutherford joined Korf in double figures with 23 and 21 points, respectively.

Jack Courneya poured in 31 to lead the Hornets and Broden Fleisher had 26.
