The Henning boys’ basketball team led 33-29 at halftime, but outscored CGB 39-28 over the final 18 minutes to register a 72-57 victory in Henning on Tuesday night.

“We were happy to be playing at home after a significant stretch on the road and even more happy to come away with a victory,” said Henning Head Coach Randy Misegades. “Even though this wasn’t our best night, we found a way to get the win. CGB is much better than their record and they played us very tough tonight. I give them a lot of credit for their effort.”

The Hornets were led by 24 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals from Mason Hammer, and 23 points, 4 assists, 4 rebounds and 5 steals from Tanner ArndtTyson Misegades added 12 points and Kale Misegades distributed 4 assists and had 4 rebounds.  Ethan Houselog added 5 boards.

“We really need to work on preparing better in practice and coming ready to play each night,” noted Coach Misegades. “We are checked-out mentally in stretches which results in poor communication and getting beat to lose balls often. We have the potential to be better if we can clean some things up.”
Henning (8-3) will entertain Menahga on Friday night.

Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley (0-11) is off until next Monday when they will host Ortonville.
