Cardinals Put 42 Shots on Goal in 5-2 Win Over Sartell

The Alexandria boys’ hockey team put 42 shots on the Sartell net Tuesday night with 5 of them registering as goals in a 5-2 Cardinal victory over the Sabres.  Sartell managed 27 shots on the Alexandria goal.

Josiah Gronholz scored goals at 11:03 and 11:16 to give the Cardinals a 2-0 lead.  The first one was unassisted and the second one was setup by Brycen Berg.  A power play goal by Michael Webster cut the lead in half.  Thomas Franke and Hayden Walters assisted on the goal for the Sabres.  Jacob Partington’s goal at 16:37 was assisted by Tyler Kludt and increased the Alexandria lead to 3-1.

Alexandria made it 4-1 on a goal by Grant Rebrovisch, assisted by Joe Lamski and Kludt at 12:13 of the second period.

In the third period, Walters got the second goal of the night for Sartell at 9:59, with assists from Tory Lund and Sterling (Teddy) McCabe).  The final goal for Alexandria came with just 12 seconds to play as Brennan Lattimer buried the puck from Gronholz and Jaegar Steele.

Alexandria (6-5-1) is scheduled to play Little Falls at home on Thursday night.
