The Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team took a 1-0 lead at the 3:36 mark of the second period on Tuesday night, however, Brainerd/Little Falls tied the game at 9:44 and took the lead with only 1:16 left in the period.  The Flying Warriors added a pair of third period goals to post a 4-1 victory at the Community Arena in Fergus Falls.

Maddie Hulter notched the Otter goal with an assist from Ellie Andersen.

“We played hard against a very fast and deep Brainerd team,” commented Fergus Falls Head Coach Tim Lill.  “At the end of the night we were just out-skilled.  Playing a team like that exposes your weaknesses, a great lesson to take to practice.  Very proud of our fight and effort.”

Goaltender Ana Jyrkas stopped 33 shots on goal in the Fergus Falls net and the Otters put 19 shots on the Brainerd/Little Falls goal.

The Otters (6-5-1) will host Thief River Falls on Friday night.
