Battle Lake got man-handled by Parkers Prairie on Tuesday night as the Panthers posted an 82-55 Little Eight Conference victory over the Battlers. Parkers Prairie went up big at halftime, 51-22 after playing physical and getting hot from three-point range.

“They drove middle, causing our help defense to overcommit, and then they kicked it out to some good shooters who made us pay,” commented Battle Lake Head Coach Tyler Owen. “We had our chances to make it a competitive game in the first half, but we missed way too many easy shots. If we could have finished at the rim early on, it would have given us an opportunity to be more patient later in the game, and that would have meant less possession time for the Panthers, leading to less points. That just wasn't the case. Hats off to Parkers Prairie. They played to their strengths tonight, and that's all it took to beat us. I believe that when their shooters are that hot from behind the arc, they could truly beat anyone.”

Brady VanErp had 13 points for the Battlers, and Drew Johnson had 12.

Florian Koep was dominant for the Panthers, scoring 33 points, 27 of which came from behind the arc.

Parkers Prairie (8-3, 7-2 LEC) will play at Underwood on Friday.

Battle Lake (3-9, 2-7 LEC) will host West Central Area on Thursday night.
