Late Empty Net Goals Lift Tech/Apollo to 5-2 Win Over Alexandria

St. Cloud Tech/Apollo scored a pair of empty net goals in the final minute of the game on Tuesday, February 9, as they defeated the Alexandria Cardinals 5-2 at the St. Cloud Municipal Athletic Complex.

Alexandria struck at the 5:31 mark of the opening period when Brycen Berg scored an unassisted goal.

St. Cloud took the lead on power play goals by Isaac Baker, assisted by August Falloon, and Andrew Cumming, assisted by Falloon and Max Rud in the second period.

Cumming scored his second goal of the game at 4:55 of the third to increase the Tech/Apollo lead to 3-1.  Falloon and Rud earned assists on that goal.  Falloon then scored into the empty net at 16:02 and Cumming added the final goal into the empty net at 16:22, with an assist from Cory Warner.

Alexandria goalie Chris Loken stopped 37 shots and Brian Streitz had 19 stops in the Tech/Apollo net.
