Cardinals and Rams Skate to 1-1 OT Tie

Alexandria and Roseau skated to a 1-1 overtime tie on Saturday, January 23 at the Runestone Community Center.  Roseau put 40 shots on the Alexandria net, but goalie Jordan O’Kane turned aside 39 of them.  The Cardinals had 29 shots on goal in the game.

Alexandria established a 1-0 lead just 2:17 into the game when Hanley Block converted a pass from Ella Westlund.  Roseau tallied the tying goal at 12:29 when Kate Helgeson scored from Memphis Mertens.  That completed the scoring for the game as Alexandria survived a 17-shot second period onslaught by the Rams.

The Cardinals successfully killed off five Roseau power play opportunities in the game.
