The West Central Area Knights fell to the Dilworth Glyndon Felton Rebels by a score of 50-44 on Saturday afternoon in Glyndon. The Knights led 27 to 24 at halftime and they held a 44 to 37 lead in the second half and DGF ended the game on a 13-0 run.

Knights Coach Kraig Hunter said, “We took a 24-9 lead and gave up a 15-3 run to end the half and then gave up the 13-0 run to end the game. That’s not usually typical of us so that’s something we have to fix.”

“It seems like having a game the night before with a short turn around affected us down the stretch as we gave up some crucial offensive boards in the last few minutes as well.”

“Other than giving up those rebounds, I thought we played a stellar defensive game.  We forced a good team into 12 turnovers, held them to 30% (16-53)  shooting, and had their offense looking discombobulated most of the night “

DGF hit 7-19 threes and 11-15 free throws and held a 40-30 rebounding advantage.  The Knights also shot 30% (17-56) and hit 8-29 threes and only 2-8 free throws and only turned the ball over 10 times.

Scoring for the Knights were Grant Beuckens with 15, Brady Reeve with 10, Tate Christenson 6, Ryder Staples 6, Cole Anderson 5 and Xander Bontjes 2.

Reeve led team in rebounding with 8, Anderson led the team with 3 assists and Christenson led the team with 3 steals.

Scoring for DGF were Owen Leach with 16, Logan Bitker 10, Ian Mickelson with 6, Coby Schreiber with 6, Justin Wang 6, Kaden Altebelli 2, Drew Sheely 2, and Mason Kerr 2.
