Hannah Polejewski scored ten of the first eleven points for Fergus Falls on Saturday afternoon as the Otters jumped out to a 16-0 lead on Sauk Rapids-Rice in a Central Lakes Conference girls’ basketball game.  Ellie Colbeck and Tori Ratz combined for 31 first half points as the Otters took a 50-19 advantage at the break and went on to post an 80-35 Parents’ Day victory over the Storm.  The win was the fifth in a row for Fergus Falls and puts them at 8-3 on the season.

The Otters had assists on 24 of their 33 made baskets, with Logan Strom dishing out 6 assists, Colbeck 5 and Ratz 3.  Ratz finished with a game high 22 points, including five 3’s.  Colbeck had 19, Anna Anderson finished with 12 and Polejewski had 10.  Paige Pearson led with 10 rebounds and chipped in with 6 points.

“We would like to thank our parents for all that they do for their daughters and the basketball program,” said Head Coach Brad Strand of the Otters.  “It was nice to see all three teams win today.  The varsity girls shared the ball extremely well today, finishing the first half with 50 points.  Great to have 4 girls in double figures and 9 girls scored today.”

Fergus Falls won the JV game, 62-32, with Karley Braeger scoring a game high 23 points.  Jenna Carlson and Cyntreya Lockett scored 14 and 13 points, respectively.  The Otter 9th graders won 43-26 with Brynn Sternberg scoring 16.

Fergus Falls will play a pair of road games this week, heading to St. Cloud Tech on Tuesday and Moorhead on Thursday.
