Wheaton/Herman-Norcross rode their pressure defense to a 69-42 win over Ortonville in a Pheasant Conference boys’ basketball contest on Friday night on the Trojans home floor.  The Warriors held Ortonville to just 11 first half points as they built a comfortable 40-11 halftime edge.  WHN hit 42.6% of their field goal attempts and Ortonville made only 26.4% of their shots.

The Warriors assisted on 24 of their made baskets, being led by Dylan Bainbridge with 6, Brayden Hofer and Andrew Walker with 4 each, and Zach Braaten and Grant Dawson with 3 apiece.  Bainbridge, Walker and Dawson also had 3 steals each.  Clint Determan provided a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds.  He was joined in double figures by Caden Spilde with 12 points.

We had a really good first half and executed our pressure defense the best we have all year,” commented WHN Head Coach Jordon Roos. “We also had some great shooting from several different players which helped open up the game. It was a great to see us set the tone early and take control of the game.”

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross is 5-4 on the season.  They have a home game Monday against C-G-B.

Ortonville (2-7) will host Sisseton on Monday and KMS on Thursday.
