Trojans Avenge Earlier Loss to Vikings

Barnesville led 33-32 at the half in Pelican Rapids on Tuesday night and the Trojans were able to finish strong for a 72-60 win over the Vikings.

“We trailed from the start tonight and although we kept it close in the first half, Barnesville eventually was able to extend their lead to twelve points midway through the second half,” said Pelican Rapids Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “We cut the lead to three with four minutes to go and had some decent looks offensively to tie it up, but none of those shots would fall as they were able to pull away late for the win.”

Pelican Rapids was led by 16 points from Jayden Rutherford and 12 from Brayden EckerLogan Fahje finished with 10 points and 8 rebounds, and McHale Korf had 9 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists.

Adam Tonsfeldt poured in a game high 26 points and Kaden Zenzen added 17.  Jack Neilsen chipped in with 13 and Noah Krause added 10.

Pelican Rapids (5-4) will host Breckenridge on Friday.

Barnesville (5-3) will host Frazee on Friday night.
