Fergus Falls took a 2-0 lead after one period of play in Detroit Lakes on Saturday afternoon and the Otter girls’ hockey team made that lead stand for a shutout win over the Lakers, improving their season record to 4-4-1.  Goaltender Lexi Metcalf stopped all 14 shots she faced in the Otter net and Fergus Falls pounded the Laker goal with 38 shots.

Jadyn Bye’s goal four minutes into the first period was assisted by Maddie Hulter and Ellie Andersen.  Hulter then scored from Bye at 5:15 of the opening period and the Otters had an early 2-0 lead on the board.  That was all the scoring in the game.

Fergus Falls will travel to Bemidji for their next game on Tuesday night and will come home to host East Grand Forks on Thursday.
