Grant Dawson scored 22 points on 11-of-15 shooting and Clint Determan made 9-of-13 shots, finishing with 18 points to lead the Wheaton/Herman-Norcross boys’ basketball team to a 66-43 victory over Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley on Thursday night in Graceville.

As a team the Warriors shot 50.9% from the field, while CGB made 32.7% of their field goal attempts.  Wheaton/Herman-Norcross also won the battle of the boards, 43-29 and capitalized on 23 turnovers by the Wolverines.

“We got off to a shaky start and CGB knocked down some shots early,” stated Head Coach Jordon Roos of the Warriors. “We were a little slow to get where we needed to be defensively and it cost us early. Eventually we settled in defensively and put a lot of pressure on CGB and were able to force turnovers and run the floor. We had a super efficient night in the paint which was very important as we struggled from the FT line and 3 point line.”

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (3-4) will play at Rothsay next Thursday night.

CGB (0-8) will host Bertha-Hewitt on Tuesday night.
