The Ashby Boys Basketball Team defeated the Brandon-Evansville Chargers 60-35 on Tuesday night.  Ashby made an extended run late in the first half to take a 35-19 lead into the halftime intermission.

“B-E ran their half-court offense deliberately and patiently looking for the best possible shot each possession,” said Ashby Head Coach John Holsten.  “We had difficulty turning them over and were required to have great concentration guarding their sets.”

Hunter Norby led all scorers with 20 points.  Jacob Cook added 16.  Tyler Bitzan was the lone Charger to reach double figures netting 12 points.  Jaden Norby chased down 11of the 32 total rebounds for the Arrows.  Derrek Bartz dished out four assists and Torin Olson recorded 2 steals.  Miles Hoff and Ashton Ecker tallied 5 and 4 points, respectively.  Ashby shot 46% (25/54) from the field.

“We played some really good stretches where I thought we controlled the game tonight,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “Unfortunately, we also had some stretches where we just gave them easy offensive opportunities. We are happy with the growth we are making and look forward to our next day together.”

Ashby is 7-0 to start the season.  Brandon-Evansville fell to 4-4.  The Chargers will travel to Barrett to face West Central Area on Thursday night.

Next up for the Arrows is a battle for first place in the Little Eight Conference with Parkers Prairie in Ashby Friday night.
