The Frazee girls’ basketball team trailed 21-19 at the half, however, the Hornets rode the hot shooting of Madison Starry and Annika Reierson to a 53-46 win over Wadena-Deer Creek on Tuesday night.  Reierson hit 5 3’s and scored 11 of her 20 points in the second half and 16 of Starry’s 18 points came in the final 18 minutes.  Dani Piche joined them in double figures with 11 points.

“Tough one on the road tonight against a good Frazee team,” commented Wadena-Deer Creek Head Coach Jordan Cresap. “Overall effort was good, just couldn’t make plays when we needed to. Clawed back from a big deficit which was great to see, just couldn’t finish.”

The Wolverines were led by 11 points from Montana Carsten and 10 points from Corra Endres.

Frazee (2-6) snapped a six game losing streak with the win.  The Hornets will host Barnesville on Friday night.

Wadena-Deer Creek (4-5) is at Henning for their next game on Thursday.
