Doherty and Maras Lead Alexandria Girls to 6-0 Win in Bemidji

Jordan O’Kane stopped all nine shots she faced in the Alexandria net on Thursday night to help the Cardinals to a 6-0 win over Bemidji in High School Girls’ Hockey in Bemidji.  Alexandria peppered the Bemidji net with 43 shots in the contest.

The Cardinals opened fast with three first period goal on 14 shots.  Anna Doherty scored at 3:20 from Hanley Block and Peyton Boesl scored at 6:54 from MaKenna Aure and Doherty.  A shorthanded goal by Marki Oberg at 9:39 was setup by Ella Westlund, giving Alexandria a 3-0 lead after one.

In the second period, Westlund scored the Cardinals second shorthanded goal of the night to make it a 4-0 game.  This goal was setup by Lauren Maras.

Maras added a power play goal at 4:34 of the third, assisted by Aure and Doherty, and Maras finished the scoring with an unassisted tally at 9:32.

Alexandria (3-3-1) will host Brainerd/Little Falls on Thursday night.
