The M State lady Spartans took to the road for the first time this season when they traveled to Jamestown on Wednesday night for a rematch with the Jamestown JV squad.  The Spartans lost their home opener to the Jimmies last Saturday, 60-56.  The second time around Jamestown posted a 63-53 win.

Ali Kranz and Jayna Gronewold led M State with 13 and 12 points, respectively.  Emily Larson added 9 points, Sabrina Fronning and Kalista Aamot had 6 points apiece, and Abby Tysdal finished with 5 points.

“The girls bounced back strong in the fourth quarter and played with a lot of heart and hustle,” stated Fergus Falls Head Coach Jodi Holleman.  "We need to play all four quarters like that.  Morgan Evavold, Kalista Aamot, and Lindsey Kurz came off the bench and played with a lot of energy and gave us a big spark!  I thought our half court man-to-man defense was outstanding!”

M State will host Rochester in a 1:00pm contest Saturday in Fergus Falls.  It is the conference opener for the lady Spartans.

The Spartan Men opened their season with a 107-69 loss in Jamestown.  They will play Rochester at 3:00pm Saturday.
