Battle Lake and Rothsay squared off in a Little Eight Conference girls’ basketball contest in Rothsay on Tuesday night. The Tigers led 30-25 at the half and continued to lead through most of the second half, until the Battlers took the lead late. That lead didn’t hold and the two teams had to go to overtime before the Battlers won the game, 60-55.
“The Tigers shot the ball really well, especially in the first half, and really kept the pressure on all night long,” said Battle Lake Head Coach David Marso.
Grace VanErp led Battle Lake with 21 points and Ady Tysdal added 15. Morgan Malone and Eleanna Cole each contributed 7 points.
Rothsay was paced by Kenadi Carlsrud with 15 points.
Battle Lake (3-3) will host Underwood on Thursday, while Rothsay (1-5) will entertain Hillcrest.
