The Pelican Rapids Vikings hosted Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton in a Heart O’ Lakes Conference boys’ basketball game on Tuesday night. The Rebels got off to a fast start, building a 40-29 halftime lead. DGF outscored the Vikings 37-22 over the final 18 minutes to record the win.
The Rebels were led by Owen Leach and Logan Bitker with 23 and 21 points, respectively. Ian Mickelson added 17 points.
“We were very sluggish from the start tonight as we didn't seem to have the will to compete and DGF took full advantage of that,” said Vikings Head Coach John Gullingsrud. “With the game tied at 7-7, the Rebels went on a 14-0 run to take control of the game. We were able to cut their lead to 8 or 10 points a couple of times after that, but we couldn't string any defensive stops together as they were able to get what they wanted offensively most of the night.”
DGF (3-0) will play at Frazee on Friday.
Pelican Rapids (3-2) will host Perham on Friday night.
