Alexandria led 2-1 after the first period on goals by Tyler Kludt, assisted by Josiah Gronholtz and Jaeger Steele, and Brycen Berg, assisted by Kludt. The Little Falls goal came from Matt Filippi, assisted by Coltin Johnson on the power play.
The Flyers tied the game at 5:24 of the second period with another power play goal, this one from Nicholas Stevens with assists from Gunnar Gustafson and Robby Helgeson. The Cardinals regained the lead at 10:08 when Brennan Lattimer buried the puck from Joe Lamski and Gronholtz.
Carter Oothoudt scored the tying goal just 2:01 into the third period. Hayden Johnson earned the assist.
Little Falls put five shots on goal in the overtime period, while Alexandria had two shots.
Dane Couture stopped 30 shots in the Little Falls net and Alexandria goalie Christopher Loken came up with 38 stops.
Alexandria (3-1-1) will play at Willmar on Tuesday night.
