Cowboys Defeat Perham to Remain Unbeaten

The Breckenridge Cowboys defeated the Perham Yellowjackets by a score of 59-46on Saturday afternoon. The halftime score was 23-19, Cowboys.

Leading scorers for the Cowboys were Cooper Yaggie with 17 (8 for 11 from the Free Throw line) and Jonah Christensen with 16.  Anthony Conzemius led the way in rebounding with 10. Christensen and Jr Perez both added 3 assists.

"We came out with a high level of intensity throughout the entire game,” said Breckenridge Assistant Coach Derek Grahn. “Whenever the Cowboys and the Jackets meet, you know that both teams will leave it all on the court and today was no exception. In the second half, we got a couple huge 3 pointers from Jr Perez, and both Cooper and Jonah were huge for us down the stretch. We play against one of the top teams in Minnesota on Tuesday against Barnesville at home and we look forward to seeing our Cowboy faithful there to cheer us on!"

Breckenridge shot 44.9% (22-49) from the field and Perham hit only 17-of-51 (33%) field goal attempts.

The Yellowjackets were led by Finn Diggins (12 points, 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Gabe Thompsoon (8 points, 7 rebounds) and Elijah Morris (7 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists).

Breckenridge (4-0) hosts Barnesville on Tuesday night and will play at Wahpeton on Saturday.

Perham (4-2) is at Pelican Rapids on Friday, February 5.
