Ady Tysdal led Battle Lake with 21 points and Grace VanErp finished with 14.
Leaders for Ashby were Ryleigh Brendmoen (15 points, 4 assists), Celi Nelson (11 points, 9 rebounds) and Catherine Koefod (10 points, 5 rebounds).
“This was our best effort of the year,” said Ashby Head Coach Kip Nelson. “We are starting to see the game, it is coming to us. We made a lot of good plays tonight. We did not have enough gas in the tank to finish it. Right now, we have the wrong mentality in the second half. If we can rid our girls of that, understand we always have a little more in the tank, we will come out on top. We are improving every day. It was another fun game to watch.”
Battle Lake (2-3) snapped a three game losing skid and will play at Rothsay on Tuesday night.
Ashby (1-4) face Brandon-Evansville on Tuesday night in Brandon.
