"We did a nice job with our defensive effort early and were able to build a 34-6 lead," said Knight Coach Kraig Hunter. "We played hard all night and shared the basketball well."
Brady Reeve led the Knights with 19 points and 7 rebounds and Grant Beuckens was also in double figures with 12 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Tate Christenson led the Knights in rebounding, assists and steals as he had 6 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, and 5 steals. Jacob Strunk played a good all-around game with 9 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals as did Cole Anderson with 7 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals and Xander Bontjes with 7 points, 3 assists, and 2 rebounds. Ryder Staples contributed 7 points and 3 steals. Isaac Kreft and Peyton Hanson each had 1 rebound.
The Knights shot 44% (24-55) and hit 11-22 free throws. CGB shot 28% (11-39) and hit 3-10 free throws. The rebounds were even at 33 apiece and the Knights forced 20 CGB turnovers and had 9 themselves.
Scoring for CGB were Nate Moberg with 11, Chuck Kleindl 6, Cole Gilsdorf 5, Ryan Geray 4, and Isaaac Haanen 2.
The Knights (1-1) will play at Ortonville on Monday night.
Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley will entertain Hillcrest on Tuesday night.
