Fergus Falls put 52 shots on the Detroit Lakes net Tuesday night as the Otters earned their first win of the young season, blanking the Lakers 4-0 at the Community Arena in Fergus Falls.  Ana Jyrkas stopped all ten shots she faced in the Fergus Falls net.

“All four lines and six defensemen contributed to a much needed win tonight,” commented Head Coach Tim Lill of the Otters.  “We had a lot of offensive zone time, created by the proper fore-check that produced numerous scoring chances.  Hope Goepferd, fresh off the COVID list, had a great game in her return to the blue line.”

Ellie Andersen notched the first goal of the night at 3:34 of the first period off an assist from Jayden Bye.  At 5:40 Piper Andrews made it 2-0 with an assist from Marilyn Karsnia.  Goepferd then setup Desirae Maack at 14:18, giving the Otters a 3-0 lead.

The final goal of the night came on the power play as Andrews scored her second of the game, this one assisted by Chloe Schake.

Fergus Falls will host Sartell in their next game on Thursday night.
