Yellowjackets Shutdown Lakers in Season Opener

The Perham Yellowjackets held a 41-25 advantage on the boards, shot 54% from the field and held Detroit Lakes to 23.5% shooting on the night as they posted a 70-36 win over the Lakers on Thursday night.

Finn Diggins led Perham with 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting, Soren Anderson contributed 14 points and 10 rebounds in just fifteen minutes on the floor and Elijah Morris chipped in with 11 points, 7 boards and 4 assists.

Perham led 30-18 at the half and outscored DL 40-18 over the final 18 minutes of play.

The Lakers were led by Zack Oistad with 13 points and 6 rebounds.

Perham will start a stretch of six straight road games when they travel to Thief River Falls for a 7:30pm tip-off on Saturday.
