With the delay to the start of the high school volleyball season this fall, senior Hannah Prody was able to add tennis to the list of varsity sports she participated in as a member of the Fergus Falls Otters.  Prody was also able to join the volleyball team once the season got started and has been a member of the track and field team through her high school years.

“Hannah was a wonderful addition to our tennis team this fall,” commented Head Girls Tennis Coach Jamie Lill.  “She has some great skill carry-over from volleyball that made her very effective as both a server and volleyer.  She's aggressive and leads by example on the court.  Her dominating presence at the net was unmatched.  Hannah has the grit and the desire to compete hard and fight for wins.  Although her tennis career was short, she worked hard, learned a lot and became an instant contributor to our varsity team.  Hannah is also a delightful young lady off the court that carries herself with integrity and is a positive role model for younger players.”

Prody recalls her favorite sports memory as, “our volleyball overnights.  I had so much fun staying in Marshall and Pequot Lakes for the tournaments.”

“Hannah has had a tremendous impact on our program,” stated Head Volleyball Coach Sabrina Noon.  “She holds all the traits of a true team captain, which she was voted on by her teammates this year.  As coaches, a player like Hannah, is what you strive to achieve in your program. Hannah is always willing to put the team first, work when no one is looking, and encourage not only her teammates, but also the younger players in our program. Her academic and athletic achievements have been the pure result of her strong work ethic, positive attitude, and determination to tackle any challenge that comes her way. She has been such a key component in our program of a player that is so well rounded and kind, that the girls naturally look up to her. We are going to definitely miss her next year, she has been part of our foundation the last few years and girls moving forward will grow from her example.”

Hannah is also involved in National Honor Society, National Society of High School Scholars and the Otter Leadership Academy.  She is a leader for Wyld Life and works as a CAN at the Broen Home in Fergus Falls.  Hobbies include water skiing, snow skiing, rollerblading and playing spikeball.

“Being involved in sports has made me the person I am today,” said Prody.  “I would not have the leadership skills or the drive I have now, without being continuously pushed in all of the sports I have participated in.  I would also not have the friendships I am currently blessed with.  One of my favorite quotes is by Henry Ford, who said ‘Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently’.”

Her favorite school subjects are Math and Science.  After high school she plans on attending UND where she has been accepted into their honors program.  She will be studying pre-medicine but hasn’t decided if she will major in Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics.
