The Yellowjackets built a 40-0 halftime lead behind 16 first quarter points and 24 second quarter points. The scoring started with 8:47 left in the first quarter when Colton Hackel found the end zone on a 2-yard run, capping a 9-play, 70 yard scoring drive. A team safety increased the Yellowjackets lead to 8-0 just twelve seconds later. Perham then extended their lead to 16-0 when Noah Rooney hauled in a 35-yard pass from Hackel with 7:35 left in the half, and also caught the two-point conversion pass.
In the second quarter Hackel connected with Rooney on a 51-yard TD pass and Hackel carried the ball in for the two-point conversion to put the lead at 24-0. Hackel then hooked up with Finn Diggins on a 6-yard scoring toss with 7:41 left in the half. A Josh Peterson rush added two more points and the Yellowjackets led 32-0. Peterson then capped the Perham scoring with a 2 yard run, followed by a Hackel two-point conversion run to kick the lead up to 40-0 with just 56 seconds remaining in the first half.
The only scoring of the second half came with 2:58 to play in the game when Sam Reish caught a 15 yard pass from Noah Morris to cap an 11-play, 89 yard scoring drive for Park Rapids Area. The extra point kick was added by R. DeLaCruzGomez to put the final score at 40-7.
Perham recorded 16 first downs and had 402 yards (125 rushing, 277 passing) of total offense on the night. Hackel completed 14-of-22 pass attempts for 277 yards and 3 TDs. He also ran for 40 yards on 12 carries. Peterson led the ground attack with 79 yards on 16 rushing attempts. Diggins was the leading receiver with 6 catches for 100 yards. Defensive leaders were Brian Ramos (5 solo tackles, 1 assisted tackle), Blake Lorentz (3 solo tackles, 2 assisted tackles), Caleb Lung (2 solo tackles, 1 forced fumble, 2 sacks) and Diggins (3 solo tackles, 1 sack). Aaron Burr recovered a fumble for the Yellowjackets.
Morris led Park Rapids Area with 37 rushing yards on 4 attempts. He also completed 5 of 7 passes for 51 yards. Josiah May was 3-for-10 throwing the football for 70 yards. Nick Michaelson was the Panthers top receiver with 2 catches for 73 yards.
