Following a scoreless first quarter, the Rockets scored on a 1 yard run by Reed Leabo, taking an 8-0 lead after a two-point conversion run by Krosby Aasness.  LPA tied the game with just 47 seconds left in the half as Kaden Beske completed a 73 yard TD pass to Trent Bjerk.  A failed two-point attempt left Underwood with an 8-6 advantage at the half.

The Rockets went on to score four second half TDs including a 2 yard run by Aasness, followed by a two-point Aasness conversion run to increase the score to 16-6 with 6:50 remaining in the third quarter.  Brien Poser found the end zone with a 4 yard run with 1:55 left in the third and Leabo took in the two-point conversion run, giving Underwood a 24-6 lead.  They made it 30-6 when Leabo completed a 20 yard pass to Jaxon Rich with 6:44 left in the fourth quarter, giving Underwood a 30-6 lead.  Conner Nelson ran in from 5 yards out and Blayre Lundgren scored the two-point conversion, making the final 38-6.

Underwood had 301 yards of total offense (281 rushing, 20 passing) and ran 60 offensive plays, compared to 31 plays and 129 total yards for LPA.

Leabo completed 1 of his 3 passes for 20 yards and a TD.  He also led the rushing stats with 81 yards on 23 carries.  Aasness ran for 77 yards on 12 attempts, Slade Moore ran for 60 yards on 9 carries and Poser had 56 yards on 11 carries.

“This was a great victory for our boys,” said Coach Hendrickson. “It was fun to see the boys’ come together as a team.  We were able to wear them down and impose out will onto them.  There were ups and downs but we wound up victorious.”
