The Comets made it interesting for half of the first half.  The Comets jumped out to an early lead, just two minutes into the game.  Comet Freshman Central Midfielder, Gabriel Swedenburg, placed a pass to the right side where Right Outside Mid, Junior. Cayden Fischer was crashing the net.  Cayden made a nice one touch shot beating a charging Viking goal keeper.  At 11 minutes, the Vikings scored on a rebound shot, bobbled by Comet Senior Keeper, Doulton Royce.  The Vikings went on to score five more goals in the first half and added three more in the second to end all scoring.

“PRHS passing and ball control skills proved why they are number one in the section North,” commented Hillcrest Head Coach Rod Jensen.  “We started the game well, challenging and anticipating, but, they quickly wore us down, and had us on our heels.”

Pelican Rapids had 22 shots on goal compared to the Comets 7.

The Comets now 0-8, finish the regular season with home games on Thursday against Detroit Lakes and Friday against Central Minnesota Christian.
