The Spartan Men posted a winning score of 312 at their home Triangular Monday at Pebble Lake Golf Course in Fergus Falls.  Carter Justesen of M State earned medalist honors with a 73 and teammate Wyatt Blomseth was the individual runner-up with a 77.  Justesen’s 73 was his four consecutive round in the 70’s.  Dickinson State won the women’s title with a team score of 354.  Jocelyn Braunberger of Valley City State was the women’s medalist with an 82.

The rest of the team scores for M State were an 80 from Grant Inniger, an 82 from Drew Schwann and an 85 from Hunter Burnside.  Individually Jon Vall shot a 79 and Mike Vall an 83.

“It was a nice couple of days for our team and I thought we played some quality golf against some very good competition,” said Head Coach Jason Retzlaff of the Spartans.  “Carter Justesen played tremendously today as his short game was superb. Wyatt Blomseth and Jon Vall played very nicely as well on a day where the weather wasn’t very pleasant. Mikey Vall also had his best round of the season. There were a lot of positives for our team to build around.”

The Spartans will next compete in a dual meet with Valley City State with the date, time and site to be determined.  It will be their final competition of the fall season.
