The Ottertail Central Raptor Baseball Team has been hot and heavy with their start to the 2020 Babe Ruth season.  They currently hold 4 wins and 5 losses with a conference record of 1 and 1.  The squad consists of 18 players that range from 12-15 years old and are coached by Evan Meece, Ryan Hendrickson and assisted by Randy Misegades

Due to the shortened season because of the onset of new COVID rules their season will be short and sweet with only a handful of games remaining.  At the time of this write up the 15 year old schedule is as follows:
Friday July 24 vs Breck @ Henning 4pm (Double Header)
Monday July 27 vs Wheaton @ Henning 5:30pm (Double Header)
That will bring the OTC team to their District tournament which will be held at the beautifully remodeled Ted Kaluski Field (Henning Fairgrounds). The tournament will be a modified 4 team tournament on July 30th starting with games at 10am, Public is Welcome!

The latest game was Monday July 20th.  Coming off of a heartbreaker from Parkers Prairie 3 days earlier the OTC Raptors were able to clinch the victory versus PRBA Monday Night, OTC 9 to PRBA 6.

OTC Raptors weathered a push by PRBA in the seventh inning where OTC Raptors coughed up four runs, but OTC Raptors still won 9-6 on Monday.  PRBAs big inning was driven by a single by Dahlen and a double by Grothen.

There was plenty of action on the basepaths as OTC Raptors collected 11 hits and PRBA had eight.

OTC Raptors got things started in the first inning when Hunter Haugen drew a walk, scoring one run and Lane Dilly later scored on an issued Hit by Pitch to Wyatt Severson.

OTC Raptors tallied five runs in the fifth inning.  The rally was led by singles by Wyatt Severson and Collin Lukken and a double by Owen Buehler.

Lane Dilly was the winning pitcher for OTC Raptors. He allowed six hits and two runs over five innings, striking out eight and walking zero.  Tyson Misegades threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen.  Misegades recorded the last five outs to earn the save for OTC Raptors.

OTC Raptors scattered 11 hits in the game.  Dilly and Buehler each collected multiple hits for OTC Raptors.  Dilly led OTC Raptors with three hits in three at bats.  OTC Raptors didn't commit a single error in the field.

PRBA 2 tallied eight hits in the game.  Grothen, Courier, and Fuuss all managed multiple hits for PRBA 2.

"This has been an outstanding group of young men to practice and compete with. They have always been willing to learn and do what it takes to compete and win as a team.  I am very impressed with this group thus far," said Coach Ryan Hendrickson.
