“It was a night to remember when these two teams squared off,” said Ashby Head Coach Dwight Walvatne. “Two quality pitchers. Congratulations to Alex Koep on his pitching performance and to Parkers Prairie on a great game.”
Parkers Prairie scored their run in the first inning. Koep was virtually unhittable as he recorded 10 strikeouts in the game. Ashby had three base runners for the game and two made it to third base but Koep struck batters out to end the threats.
Carter Spangler pitched the final three innings for Ashby, holding Parkers Prairie scoreless and giving the home team a chance.
“Ashby played hard and gave it their all,” added Walvatne. “I was proud of them.”
