The Fergus Falls Hurricanes recorded a double header sweep on Saturday night, beating the Dent Wildcats by scores of 2-0 behind a combined one-hitter from Eric Salveson and Darin Stanislawski, and 17-0 in a five-inning perfect game from Thomas Bosek.

The ‘Canes scored single runs in the fifth and sixth innings of game one on RBI singles by Austin Stanislawski and Bosek.  Bosek led the offense with two hits in three at bats.

“Eric struggled with his control as he walked the bases loaded in the fourth, but got a double play to end the inning,” reported Coach Davy Johnson of the Hurriceanes.  “Darin was dominant in relief with six of the nine outs coming via the ‘K’.”

Bosek struck out three batters in his five perfect innings in the nightcap, improving his season record to 2-0.  Leaders at the plate were Sean McGuire (3-5, 2R, 2RBI), Bosek (1-2, HR, 2R, 2BB, 4RBI), Darin Stanislawsi (1-2, HR, 2R, 2BB, 2RBI), Austin Stanislawski (1-2, 2R, 2BB, 2RBI) and Jack Hiedeman (2-3, R, 2RBI).

“Thomas only needed 40 pitches in his five innings of perfection,” stated Coach Johnson.  “Our pitchers allowed only one hit over twelve innings tonight and have now registered three consecutive shutouts.”

The Hurricanes improved to 8-2 overall and 5-0 in Countryside League play.  They will face Pelican Rapids in their next game Friday, July 17 at 7:30pm in Pelican Rapids.
