Caleb Ott tossed a complete game and allowed 3 runs on 3 hits as Barnesville defeated rival DGF 5-3 in Lakes Region Sr. Babe Ruth baseball on Wednesday, July 8 at Reed Field in Barnesville.

Ott struck out 6, walked 2 and allowed just 1 earned run in the win.  DGF's Alex Gulseth pitched equally as well, allowing just 4 hits while striking out six, but issuing 4 walks and 4 DGF errors contributed to the win for Barnesville.

Trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Ott stroked a one out single and Matt Samuelson ripped a double into the right center gap to close the lead to 3-2.  Conner Morse looped a single to left, and after a pop up out, Sam Askegaard's slow roller to short resulted in a throwing error and a tying run.  Adam Tonsfeldt walked after falling behind 1-2 in the count, and another error on Kellen Hinsz's infield bouncer plated Morse and Askegaard for the 5-3 lead.  Ott retired the DGF team in order in the top of the seventh for the win.

Barnesville is now 3-1 (4-1 overall) in Lakes Region Sr. Babe Ruth and will have road contests in Frazee, Breckenridge and Ada next week.  DGF suffered their first Lakes Region loss and is 4-1 on the season.
