Ashby beat Brandon/Evansville 67-57 in Little Eight Conference boys’ basketball contest on Tuesday night in Ashby.  The Arrows led 32-21 at the half.

Ashby was led by Jaden Norby with 17 points and 9 rebounds, and Torin Olson with 15 points.  Jacob Cook and Hunter Norby were also in double figures with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

“We had a lead of 43-26 at one time and were playing really well,” stated Ashby Head Coach John Holsten, “however, the Chargers are a well-coached club with a roster full of fierce competitors who don’t give up.  They force to focus EVERY possession and cut the margin to 51-47.  We were fortunate to make enough plays down the stretch to seal the victory.”

Marshall Riedel led the Chargers with 15 points and Tanner Bitzan had 10.

“Ashby deserved to win,” said B-E Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “They played a full game and we didn't. We play in streaks too often and that issue needs to change. Ashby played really hard for all 36 minutes. We had some good contributions off the bench tonight when we really needed it.”

Ashby and Parkers Prairie are in a first place tie in the Little Eight Conference and the conference title is on the line when they play each other in Ashby on Friday night.
