Underwood took control early on Monday night, taking a 41-18 lead over the Ashby girls in a Little Eight Conference basketball matchup on the Rockets home floor. Underwood shot 56% (31-55) overall and 35% (5-14) from beyond the arc and when all was said and done the Rockets posted a 72-33 win.
Kayla Rocholl led the way with 23 points on 10-of-16 shooting. She also had 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Brooke Hovland added 12 points, 5 assists and 2 steals, and Moraes Bugbee scored 8 points, making 4-of-7 shots, dished out 4 assists and grabbed 2 rebounds. Ally Johnson chipped in with 4 points, 4 rebounds and 5 steals.
“I thought tonight was probably one of our better games offensively, we did a really good job of taking smart in rhythm shots, and our shooting percentage showed that,” stated Underwood Head Coach Brian Hovland.
The Rockets (16-6) will play at Hillcrest Lutheran Academy on Tuesday night.
Ashby (4-18) will host Park Christian School on Thursday night.
