Brandon-Evansville beat Hillcrest in Fergus Falls Friday night, 48-41.

Tanner Bitzan scored his 1,000 career point as he led the Chargers with 14.  Tanner becomes the fifth 1,000 point scorer in Charger history, since the schools merged.  Keagan Schiele added 10 points for B-E.

“We played really hard and we were fairly successful defensively,” said Brandon-Evansville Head Coach Trent Hintermeister. “We made zero 3's, shot under 50% from the free throw line, and didn't make many shots outside of 5 feet. When those things don't go well, it is nice to be able to rely on defense.”

“Tonight we came out flat and it looked like we were tired after going overtime vs Battle last night,” commented Hillcrest Head Coach Ryan Garvin. “We dug into our bench and got some guys some more run, but we struggled to run any kind of offense tonight. Any set plays we tried to run broke down with our lack of focus. We fumbled the ball at the basket on some layup attempts. We had in the neighborhood of 24 turnovers again. So it was an overall rough night for us. The beauty of this team though is that I KNOW they will bounce back. They are a young team, but they are resilient. I'm really impressed with these boys. So proud to be their coach. What an honor.”

Hillcrest was led by Micah Foss with 13 points, 4 rebounds and 2 assists.  Joel Quam added 1 points and 4 rebounds.
