Owls Defeat Warriors in Hancock

The Hancock Owls hosted Wheaton/Herman-Norcross in a Pheasant Conference boys’ basketball contest on Thursday night with the Owls taking a 36-30 halftime lead on the way to a 69-61 victory over the Warriors.

Hancock shot 48% from the field and Wheaton/Herman-Norcross hit 38.6% of their shots.  The Owls held a 40-28 edge on the boards.

Matt Thielen (17 points, 4 assists, 3 steals), Dylan Bainbridge (14 points, 4 assists, 3 steals) and Zach Braaten (9 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks) led the Warriors.  Nick Lupkes added 4 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists, while Clint Determan finished with 8 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 6 steals.

Hancock (9-6) will play at Battle Lake on Friday night.

Wheaton/Herman-Norcross (7-8) has road games on Saturday at Canby and on Monday at Ortonville.
