The Rothsay girls’ basketball team traveled to Parkers Prairie for a Little Eight Conference contest on Thursday night and took the Panthers to overtime before losing by the score of 85-74.  The lady Tigers held a 40-34 halftime advantage and the game was tied at 58-58 at the end of regulation.

“I was happy how we moved the ball on the offensive end,” commented Rothsay Head Coach Anita Heier.  “We worked together as a team to create shots for each other.  Faith Alberts took over the game in OT and we didn’t have an answer for her.  I’m proud of these girls and their effort on the road.”

Jayna Gronewold poured in 30 points and gathered 21 rebounds, while dishing out 6 assists.  Jenna Fabre scored 16 points, Grace Lider had 14 points and 5 rebounds, and Kenadi Carlsrud added 10 points and 6 boards.

Parkers Prairie (11-6) will host Ashby next Thursday, while Rothsay (6-13) goes to Graceville to face C-G-B on Friday night.
