The Fergus Falls boys’ basketball team played ‘lock down’ defense on Tuesday night, holding Sartell-St. Stephen to 31 points as they recorded a 51-31 victory on the Sabres home court. In their recent three game winning streak Sartell-St. Stephen scored 92, 94 and 86 points.
The Otters shot 51% (23-45) from the field, but didn’t attempt a free throw all night long. Dominic Aguilar led the Otters with 15 points, 5 assists and 5 rebounds. Cody Norgren recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, while adding 3 assists. Chance Fazio finished with 8 points, 7 rebounds and 7 blocked shots, and Ethan Olson had 8 points, 7 boards and 2 assists.
Fergus Falls held a 36-24 advantage on the boards. They led 33-18 at the half and allowed only 13 second half points to the Sabres.
The Otters (12-4) will play a makeup game at Little Falls on Thursday and will host Rocori on Friday.
