Jade Zierden and Ellie Andersen each scored a pair of goals and Andersen added an assist to help the Fergus Falls girls’ hockey team to a 5-2 win over Moorhead in the Otters final regular season home game. The win ended a four game Otter losing skid.
Zierden got the scoring started just 22 seconds into the game, with Gabby Brimhall earning the assist. At 4:13, Moorhead tied the game when Madalyn Spaeth scored from Elise Stromme.
In the second period, Andersen gave the Otters a 2-1 lead with Vivian Karsnia picking up the assist at 15:53. At 16:52, Zierden scored from Andersen to make it a 3-1 Fergus Falls lead.
Moorhead cut the lead to 3-2 when Hailey Hedlund scored from Olivia Dronen at 6:14 of the third period. Andersen notched her second goal of the night from Maddie Hulter at 11:46 and Hulter ended the scoring at 14:24 with an assist from Chloe Nelson.
Anna Jyrkas stopped 10 of the 12 Moorhead shots on goal to earn the win in the net.
Fergus Falls (10-14) will close out their regular season schedule with a game at River Lakes on Thursday.
