The Battle Lake boys’ basketball team saw their three game winning streak end with a 76-57 road loss at Parkers Prairie on Tuesday night.  The win was the fourth in a row for the Panthers.

Parkers Prairie junior Florian Koep came off the bench to hit six 3’s and score a game high 24 points.  Josh Helling added 16, Micah Arens had 15 and Spencer Yohnke finished with 13 for the Panthers.

“We played them tough, but mental breakdowns and poor shot selection down the stretch killed us,” observed Battle Lake Head Coach C.J. Peeters.  “They were shooting the lights out and we kept battling.  Proud of our guys, it was a fun game but they broke it open in the final five minutes.  We did a nice job attacking inside and not settling, which opened up the outside for us at times.”

Brennan Amundson led the Battlers with 20 points and Riley Leabo added 14.

Battle Lake (3-9) will host Hancock in their next game on Friday night.

Parkers Prairie (14-3) has won four straight games.  The Panthers will play at Underwood on Friday.
