The Breckenridge Cowboys defeated Wheaton/Herman-Norcross by a score of 78-61 on Thursday night in Wheaton. The halftime score was 38-27, Breckenridge.

Leading scorers for the Cowboys were Cooper Yaggie with 28, Jonah Christensen with 18, and Anthony Conzemius with 9. Leading in rebounds were Christensen with 13, Conzemius with 7, and Tyson Piechowski with 5. Yaggie added 4 assists.

"Wheaton really has a team that shoots the ball well with Matt Thielen being as good of a shooter as we will see all season,” commented Breckenridge Assistant Coach Derek Grahn. “We were able to do some positive things on the defensive end to take them out of some looks. On offense, we played another very unselfish game 9 guys picking up assists. We take on Wahpeton this Saturday in what should be a fun cross town game."

Breckenridge (8-7) has won three consecutive games.

Thielen led the Warriors with 25 points.  He was joined in double figures by Michael Franzese with 13 and Dylan Bainbridge with 11. The Warriors hit just 37% of their field goal attempts.

"This was a high-paced high energy game," stated Wheaton Head Coach Jordon Roos. "We gave up a 15-0 run in the first half and never could counter with a run of our own and that was the difference in the game. We struggled to get into a consistent rhythm on both sides of the floor. "

The Warriors (7-6) will play at Hancock on Friday night.
