Freshman Drew Johnson led the Battlers with 19 points, hitting all five of his 3-point attempts.  Riley Leabo added 14 and Kayne Cameron contributed 11.

“We played hard tonight,” said Battle Lake Head Coach C.J. Peeters.  “We put a lot of pressure on them and were able to get rolling.  They are a big strong team and we needed to stretch them out and play a full court game.  Drew played great and helped stretch the floor for us.  We got them out of their zone and worked the ball to get good shots.  It is fun to watch us play that way.”

Winston Heifort was the lone Rocket in double digits with 11 points.

“Battle Lake came out more intense tonight and wanted to win more,” said Head Coach Evan Meece of Underwood.  “We turned the ball over far too many times and didn’t get a chance to set up our offense and work the ball to a good look.  We need to take better care of the ball and come out with more intensity.”

Battle Lake (1-8) will host Hillcrest on Friday night, while Underwood (1-10) will host Wheaton/Herman-Norcross on Thursday and travel to Rothsay on Friday.
